SUNA (Society Urologic Nurses and Associates)
The Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, Inc. is a professional organization committed to excellence in patientcare standards and a continuum of quality care, clinical practice and research through education of its members, patients,family and community. Our vision is to be the nursing authority in the management of persons with urological healthcare concerns.
We currently have 36 local SUNA chapters across the U.S. with membership
of 3,000. The term "associates" in our name refers to
our members who are not registered
nurses but who contribute to the field of urologic nursing in various
ways such as in radiology,
urologist office staff, biofeedback
and urodynamic specialists, physician's assistants (PA), etc
We offer
two national programs each year-an Annual Conference in the Fall
and a Symposium on disorders of the bladder, bowel and pelvic floor
which is held in the Spring.
Our newsletter is the UroGram and we also publish the Urologic Nursing Journal
bi-monthly.
